And just to wrap this up for your weekend, @hailey asked in my AMA:
How far are you in writing Witchlight?
I am almost exactly halfway. I say “almost” because I can’t quite gauge if I’m past the halfway point or not quite there yet…
I’ve also been stuck at this point for a while now. Which is totally normal for process—I can see where I want/need the story to go, but I am very particular about how my characters get there. I really don’t like “extra stuff” if I can help it, so I’ll spend literal months trying to find a solution that gets my characters from Point A to Point B in the most interesting, streamlined way possible.
And I never “waste” the time, of course. While I was stuck, I wrote a ton of the third Luminaries book and dabbled in some other projects mentioned here. Also…Baldur’s Gate 3 came out just over a week ago, and y’all. Y’ALL. I haven’t been this sucked into a game since Deathloop. I am obsessed!
Gaming always inspires me to write, so this has been a great boost for my creative tinkering. On top of that, I had an awesome breakthrough yesterday, thanks to some brainstorming with my good pal Alex Bracken. I think it might be the THING I was looking for to get my characters more “fluidly” to where I know they need to be! 🙏
