Behold the UK cover for Four & Twenty Blackbirds!
Yet again, the vibes are strong
I’m here again with another surprise cover reveal! This time for the UK edition of Four & Twenty Blackbirds, and gang: it’s a stunner.
Sing a song of sixpence, a pocket full of lies…
…baked in a pie.
Truly, has Micaela Alcaino not once more knocked the art out of the park? We’ve got the blackbird with its tail turning to blood. We’ve got the wintery tones and icy branches to match the setting of frosty Blackbird Island in December. We’ve got our heroine, Wren, staring out over an icy pond that is vital to the story’s mystery.
And then that title treatment?! The font for my name?! The cover designer Jane Tibbetts has absolutely nailed the 90s vibes. And I just love how you can glance at this cover and immediately think, Oh yeah, that’s some old school mystery and horror right there.
And just to remind you all of the plot:
Riverdale meets Twin Peaks in this romantic supernatural horror mystery set on a winter island in 1997, from New York Times bestselling author Susan Dennard.
Wren Peters would rather not believe in the weird things that happen on Blackbird Island. Like her disturbing visions of the man who wound up dead. Or her even more concerning feelings for her archnemesis. But when more people go missing, Wren might not have a choice. If she doesn’t start listening to what the visions are telling her, then more people are going to end up dead. Including herself.
