4. The Hunter Trials are finally coming in September!
I’m thrilled that, thanks to Substack, I finally have the Hunter Trials all ready to go.
So what are they?
A fun way to interact and spread the word about the upcoming release of The Luminaries—by the ORIGINAL READERS. The OG fans. The hipsters who “liked the Luminaries before it was cool.” (Lol, let’s hope it gets cool…🤞)
Starting in September, I’ll be sharing challenges with fun, very exclusive prizes to win for participants. These will of course be totally optional!
There will be two challenges per month, and interspersed throughout, I’ll have activities and chats and extra content on the main Substack for everyone! (Again, all totally optional.)
What if I don’t want to participate?
That is 100% okay. I promise I will still love you.
You can go unsubscribe from the Hunter Trials + Community Extras on the main website. Just click on your account in the top right and choose “Manage Subscription.”

I will keep being annoying about this. Forgive me. It is part of the job, and as mentioned in my main newsletter a few weeks ago, PRE-ORDERS CAN MAKE OR BREAK AN AUTHOR’S CAREER.
Mine is definitely on the line again, which I know people struggle to believe. But this has always been a catch-22 for me. I have great social media follower counts and a hugely successful newsletter…
But I struggle to convert those numbers into sales. I mean, I don’t just struggle—lol—I downright fail. 😵💫
So all of this is to say: please preorder. It really does mean the WORLD to me.
