I’m really sorry about that. I know they’re trying to fix it right now—it’s a third party issue separate from the publisher. But I’ll let Daphne Press know the Australian edition is still not back!
I imagine you are super busy. An idea for the future: a post about what authors do or experience at "events", like the two you mentioned in your newsletter. Do people mill about and buy books and the writer signs them? Does the writer read from the book or speak to everyone at once or more individually or do a Q&A? Ideas to learn about :)
Every event is different! But for a standard bookstore signing, typically the author speaks for 30min-1hour and takes audience questions. Then you sign books! If it’s a small audience, it won’t take long to sign and I’ll chat a while with each person. If it’s a big audience/line…well, I’m still prone to chat way too much. 😅 as anyone here who has come to my events can attest!
I've been learning how to draw again for the past couple months and my drawing (and reading... and everything else) time has basically disappeared since Veilguard came out. It's so good. I'd also argue that it does feel like a Dragon Age game - specifically a refinement and improvement of a Dragon Age 2 style game (my favorite of the series excluding the dumb cave/building interior map issue).
ANYWAY... I'm super looking forward to the next book from you. Keep up the good work!
Yes, I can definitely see the DA2 vibes. I think it feels a lot like a Mass Effect game, which DOES NOT BOTHER ME. I am very into it! I just played the closing sequence of Act 1 and it left me BREATHLESS! So. Much. Fun!
I'm only just past where you choose between going to Minrathous or Treviso. I've spent a lot of time exploring and treasure hunting vs pushing the main story.
Hi! My copy has somehow already arrived at Indigo in Canada. Does that sound right? (I thought you might want to know if it's out before it's "supposed" to be.)
Exciting!! I'm about halfway through rereading The Hunting Moon.
Yes, I've heard Indigo has shipped out VERY early!! Which is frustrating, but not the end of the world. Enjoy reading it before everyone else, I guess. 😘 And if you can, leave a review! THANK YOU FOR PRE-ORDERING!!!!!
Ah, I came here to tell you before picking it up or reading it. As a fellow writer, I feel concerned that it got released before you/the publisher intended, so I wanted to let you know. Thank you for sharing your feelings! I respect your feelings.
When I do read it, I will absolutely write a review! This series is one of my favourite series! It represents and captures what I love in YA: family, friendship, romantic love, fantasy, mystery, community, LOVE. Happy to proclaim that!
PS. Yay, pre-ordering! Happy to help support!! Thank YOU for writing and sharing this story!
Wait I just assumed we were continuing the readalong for whispering night!! Yes to continuing it please! :)
Would love a read a long for wispering night too!
Massive Witchlands news!? Maybe info on the long awaited tv series!!?? 🤞🏻
Alas, not news. Just a special thing for subscribers 😅
The Kindle edition is still not available in Australia. My pre-order was also cancelled.
