ONLY THREE WEEKS UNTIL THE WHISPERING NIGHT HITS STORES.
Ahem.
I can’t believe it’s so close. I knew releasing during the US election season would be weird—and it’s true! I am not even trying to cut through all the noise online. And frankly, there’s so much noise in my head too about it. It’s hard to stress about a book’s release when it feels like the fate of the world is resting on the next few weeks. 😬
That said, I should try to be a Good Author and remind you all to pre-order (and get your pre-order enamel pin in the US/Canada). Here are links!
And don’t forget, of course, that you can get signed copies shipped internationally through Schuler’s! That’s the second button above. Just specify in the comments section at checkout to whom you want it personalized!
Now onto the main event!
I’ll be giving away TEN e-galleys of The Whispering Night. That’s a pretty high chance of winning, right there.
On top of that, one lucky winner will also get a signed US copy of The Whispering Night + enamel pin!
As always, I pick winners in a week and the contest is open internationally!
To enter, simply leave a comment below telling me your favorite monster! It can be a mythological monster, a movie monster, a made-up monster, or even a Luminaries monster. 😉 There’s no wrong answer!
I love dragons! Both the European dragon and the Asian dragon are beautiful in their own way, and I love just how varied and how mind-boggling big they are
I recently watched the latest Aliens movie and I think the half human/half alien monster was my favorite because it was absolutely terrifying. Whoever thought that one up did an amazing job!
I’ve always been fond of vampires! And werewolves! An entity that gives me the chills however, is the Woman in White! Or any ghost children. And clowns. I’m basically a scaredy cat! Lol.
My favorite monster recently is the Spectator from Baldur's Gate 3/D&D. Something about them is so creepy, yet oddly cute to me. Also a big fan of the classic Pennywise.
Nøkken! It's a scary creature in norwegian folklore. Guess it came to life to explain why people dispeared without trace in the woods or drowned there...
my favourite kinds of monsters are ones that arise out of the shared fears of a community and thus their folklore. i love love love a cryptid like mothman or delving into different representations of other creatures like bigfoot across communities and cultures.
When you asked about my favorite monster, the first one that popped into my mind is Cookie Monster. I still sing his C is for Cookie song especially when baking cookies.
I think the worst monsters are those that look like humans but are possessed or possess darkness.. those that scare the mere mortals with their power and their lack of empathy for human weakness.. and therefore the favourite in books..
My favorite is probably a griffin or a sphinx. I just like the mash up mythological creatures. For the luminaries universe however my favorite/the one that freaks me out the most is the changling.

Clem from Buffy the Vampire Slayer! He's such a sweetheart <3
I think my favorite monster, if it is Chupacabra! OR my beloved My Pet Monster I had growing up. I was not a doll girl!
It's got to be mermaids 😁
I was lucky enough to have already read the whispering night ebook but I'd love to enter for the signed copy and pin.
I'm older here, I was really into the monsters from Godzilla, Hydra, Mothra etc lol like you said no wrong answer here
I love cerbarus!! Though I'd definitely want to pet him...
Medusa is easily a specific favorite, but if we're generalizing - Vampires.

Love vampires, dragons and witches/warlocks!!
Okay I know it’s not cool and exciting but I’m a vampire girl through and through. Twilight sunk its teeth into me and never left go.
*pun intended*
I think it has to be a succubus.
My favorite monster is dragons or lochness monster.
I love a hydra/Eborsisk moment (especially when Val Kilmer, as Madmartigan, is slaying it in Willow).
I’ve always been fond of vampires! And werewolves! An entity that gives me the chills however, is the Woman in White! Or any ghost children. And clowns. I’m basically a scaredy cat! Lol.
My favorite monster is the griffin
Dragons for sure!
Mike wazowski came to mind instantly 😅😅😅
You are so valid for this
Ooh, I would probably have to choose dragons! I love large birds and dragons are just really gigantic bird that you could ride!
In one of my favorite book series there are these giant (car sized), winged, battle wolves. And I love them.
Vampires for sure!
My favorite monster is a Selkie. You can blame “The Secret of Roan Inish” for that one. Also werewolves 🌙🐺🌃

Sully from Monster's Inc :)
My favorite monster is the dwarves' and Gandalf's bane the balrog.
Hmmm…monsters are a hard one. I guess I’d have to say human beings. There are some people out there who truly are monsters.
My favorite monster is Godzilla!
I love dragons, vampires, and werewolves (specifically those from the Luminaries 😉).
Perhaps they are too cute to be considered monsters, but my current favorites are the Will-‘o-Wisps in The Hunting Moon. I love them!

Dragons are definitely my favorite, but my favorite in the books is the banshee.
My favorite monster recently is the Spectator from Baldur's Gate 3/D&D. Something about them is so creepy, yet oddly cute to me. Also a big fan of the classic Pennywise.
Not sure if this counts but Calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle ^_^
Have to go with dragons. They're just so cool and powerful. My first tattoo is of a dragon
I've always been a fan of the vampire

I think I've read too many vampire books that I've got to say vampire!
Kitsune - many tailed fox spirit from Japan that helps and tricks humans
I'm pretty obsessed with epic the musical right now so learning about Scylla, I'd say she is my current favourite monster!
I think Werewolves have always been my favorite monster! It all started with the Underworld movies!
Off the top of my head would be dragons 😊
Cerberus!
I think my favorite would have to be a Kelpie or Nøkken, which is ironic because I have a fear of water 😂
Leviathan

(also, lololol COOOOOKIES!)
I love a vampire, but lately I've been more interested in werewolf stories. Either way, they feel like "classic" monsters in a fun way.
