was nsync more popular? absolutely. HOWEVER! backstreet boys had the better music. FIGHT ME!
one direction had a huge impact on me, but no one can beat my kpop boys: BTS, Shinee, Stray Kids, Ateez, and TXT (to name a few) are some of the best to ever do it!
I grew up on the boy bands of the late 00s and I believe my favs were Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco. But don’t get me wrong pre-teen me was crazy for Big Time Rush and One Direction 😂
I totally attended a NSYNC concert in the '90s while I was in high school. BSB is more college for me since "I Want It That Way" was playing in every store in the mall one day.
I will go with NSYNC. :)
(But, I'm more of a Green Day kinda girl. ADHD and punk rock! I went to their 30th anniversary concert last year and it was my kid's first concert. Epic!!!)
I am planning to buy the Illumicrate edition, but I don't have the money or the space to preorder a standard copy as well. Is there any way to show support that publishers notice in a situation such as this?
A GREAT question. Goodreads adds are super helpful (publishers keep an eye on those). Tagging them in social media posts (even stories) can help show buzz and hype. And of course, requesting at libraries is great for sales!
Thanks for asking this! I'll be sure to include this list in a future newsletter!
Listennnnn, don't come for me but I was *obsessed* with O-town during the boyband days. Like... My entire 13 y/o bed room was just plastered with magazine articles of them. It was a problem.
As always you'll find my pre-orders in the stacks you go to sign at Schuler's, but that Illumicrate edition will be MINE. *insert evil cackling*
Nah, Backstreet Boys was a big part of my childhood. I still remember dancing around and singing along to them on their casette tapes. And I still go for their songs when doing karaoke! Backstreet's back, all right???
Band wise I was more a Spice Girls, Westlife, TLC and Linkin Park fan during my elementary days then BigBang, 2NE1 and Marianas Trench during my highschool years. College days was Maroon 5 and Chainsmokers for a bit. Then it became a mix of LANY, The 1975, Glass Animals, BLΛƆKPIИK, TWICE, and Stray Kids 😅
NSync all the way. My greatest regret is going on my four day grade 8 trip instead of the VIP tickets that my friends sister won from the local radio station.
The Temptations could kick both of those groups' asses in a performing contest.
Hahaha going old school
I can go older school than that…

No!!! BSB was SO much more popular. My babies were the underdogs!
(Also Shinee!!!)
addendum: nsync was more popular amongst my cohort of five-year-olds LMAO

Haha, I don't even think most of those count as boy bands? One Direction probably does...
But I appreciate your tastes!
*NSYNC ALL THE WAY. I’ll bring my custom made NSYNC jenga game next time I see you and we can reminisce over trivia.
I'm sorry, CUSTOM MADE?! Did you make them?!
My friend made it for me for my birthday. I CRIED.
Agree. NSYNC >>>>>>>
🤝
Me and the Lance Bass poster that was on my wall for years completely agree! I thought I was going lose my mind when I saw them in concert twice!
JEALOUS!! I saw them only once, alas.

Does Linkin Park count as a boy band? Also, check out kpop bands, Stray Kids, bigbang, so many golden boys in that game :D
Loved Bigbang until…ya know. But Super Junior, Shinee, etc—big Kpop fan about 15 years ago!!
