1. UK Release Delay

Friends, I am so sorry to have to announce this…

But there has been a printer error in the UK, which means The Luminaries will not reach stores by January 26. The new release date is March 7, 2023, and the printers have assured us there will be no more delays!

Trust me when I say that I am extremely upset—not at Daphne Press, of course. This is not their fault; it is merely the publishing reality in our Covid age. My book is one of many impacted.

But I do genuinely feel terrible knowing you all will have to wait 1.5 months longer to read, when I know you've already been patient this long.

Please accept my apologies and the apologies of Daphne Press. We are truly, truly sorry.

And of course, it’s not too late to preorder and guarantee you get a copy!! Or you can go ahead and buy the ebook to start reading now!

2. Vampira art...and a new species of nightmare!

To apologize for the delay, I am managed to convince the team to share some extra special art with only you all.

First though, I do want to show you the vampira illustration in case you missed that on social media. (I also love that my voice-to-text now knows the word vampira.¹ 😂)

This illustration (as well as this one of the banshee here!) is in the Illumicrate and Daphne Press edition of The Luminaries. Drawn by the incredible Kerby Rosanes, these panels are meant to imitate what Winnie sketches in her various notebooks, as well as the creature entries in the Nightmare Compendium.

Horrifying, right? 😍

There are five illustrations in the book, two of which we have yet to share…

But to apologize for the delay in printing, I want to also share a sneak peek of this new nightmare species which Winnie discovers in the forest during her first hunter trial. (So early in the book!)

Behold, the mysterious Whisperer!

All of Kerby’s drawings are incredible, but the Whisperer is definitely my favorite…😍
