Also, I cannot physically express how excited I am that you might be re-writing SS&!! I discovered those books back in like 2014 and they've always had a very special place in my heart. I think that was the first book series I ever really fell in love with and even in spite of it not aging well like you mentioned it's still very special to me.

And VERY glad to hear Cricket is on the mend! What an awful experience for her. There is nothing more scary than the moment you realize your throat is closing up and I would wish it on no one — the amazing purifiers on the market these days do help a lot.
Also this may be COMPLETELY irrelevant but if there’s an allergy component and no one has mentioned mast cell stabilizers it may be worth investigating. They’ve made a HUGE difference for me but of course it all depends on the details so this is definitely not creepy invasive medical advice for your child just a hat tip that might be helpful because it took yeeeeeeeeeeears before I got a specialist who mentioned using them prophylactically in conjunction with regular allergy stuffs.
